John’s calling is to be a preacher of grace and a shepherd of souls. He was raised in a loving Christian home in Scotland, and trusted in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior when he was 12 years old. John is married to Gudny, who is from the Faroe Islands, Denmark. They have a son, Christopher, who is married to Andi, and four grandchildren, Alex, Ian, Kera, and Vincent.
John is a graduate of Edinburgh University, Scotland, and formerly practiced law in Scotland. When God called John to full-time pastoral ministry, Gudny and he then moved to Dallas to attend Dallas Theological Seminary. He was granted the degrees of Master of Theology and Doctor of Ministry.
What John likes: Theology, history, travel, politics, soccer (Manchester United!), the ocean, biographies, and his grandchildren!
What John could do without: Peanut butter, grits, science fiction, and long meetings!

Jim’s passion is to share Christ with others and to teach God’s Word.
He sees that calling best expressed through the local church by equipping others to tell the world about Jesus. A native Tar Heel, Jim accepted Christ at the age of nine at a local church children’s revival. Jim is married to Anna. Together, they have six children — Josh (Ashley), Jared, Jake, Rachel (Nolan), Rebekah and Sam — and two grandchildren, Olive and Theo.
Jim is a graduate of Campbell University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served Charlotte churches since 1990 and returns to Calvary Church after an almost 3-year term of service at Joni and Friends International Disability Ministry where he served as the Southeast Area Director.
What Jim likes: Sports (Tar Heels, Panthers, & Hornets), the beach and mountains, meeting people, and his family — especially his grandchildren.
What Jim could do without: Liver (or any other kind of organ meat), snakes, and weak coffee!

Tim serves in the areas of music and worship and oversees the worship staff and worship ministries. He counts it a great joy and privilege to serve with such a godly and skilled worship team. Tim has been married to Vicki since 1986 and they have three daughters: Courtney, who is married to Matt Burrows, Chelsea, and Colby.
Tim holds a B.A. and M.A. of Music from the University of Akron. He has been in full-time ministry for over 25 years, serving churches in Ohio, Michigan, and North Carolina. Tim and his family came to Calvary in 2006.
What Tim likes: Hanging out with his family, basketball, travel and all things Ohio State!

Eric serves as Pastor of High School Ministry. He began with Calvary as the Pastor of Middle School Ministry in February 2015. He graduated from Clearwater Christian College with an undergraduate degree in Church Ministry and holds an M.A. in Theological Studies from Liberty University. Eric and his wife, Amanda, have two fun-loving sons, Colson and Levi, and a daughter, Gracelyn. After being a Christian, husband, father, and pastor, Eric is a diehard Carolina Panthers football and Duke basketball fan.
What Eric likes: Conversations around a table, spending time with my bride, playing with my kids, golf, and just about any competitive sport!
What Eric could do without: Peas, fish, and snakes!

Rodney grew up in the small town of Mt. Pleasant, NC where he played football and wrestled for Mt. Pleasant High School. In his senior year of high school, he surrendered to God’s call to vocational ministry. While at Wingate University, he met and married Donna Long. Together, they went to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated with his Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees. Donna is presently working on her Doctor of Education degree at Southeastern.
Rodney and Donna have three sons and a daughter who are all married: Josh (Amy), Mark (Krystle), Jacob (Hayley); Gloria (Quinn). They also have nine grandchildren.
Rodney’s passion is equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. He loves teaching God’s Word, as well as mentoring, coaching, and encouraging God’s people to walk with Him. He finds great joy in helping people understand the Gospel and grow deeper.

Nathaniel hails from Kingston, Jamaica, where he was raised by a single mother along with two older siblings. He trusted Christ as Savior at seven years old, and answered the call to full-time Christian ministry in 1994. Since then he has served the church in various roles, including four years as Vice President of a Christian college. Nathaniel is married to Cheryl, also from Jamaica, and together they have two daughters, Ruth-Ann and Hannah.
Nathaniel has earned three Master degrees and a Doctor of Ministry. His passion is simply to know Christ, birth spiritual babes for Him, and to facilitate their growth and the exercise of their spiritual gifts.
What Nathaniel likes: Reading books on prayer (George Muller, Andrew Murray, A.W. Tozer), discipleship, biblical counseling, the Puritans and Reformers, shepherd leadership, cross-cultural anthropology, history, and theology. He also likes traveling, hiking, the beach, and fire-hot jerk chicken and pork!

Jim’s passion is to preach and teach God’s Word and shepherd people to be more like Christ (2 Peter 3:18). With over twenty years of pastoral ministry experience, he presently oversees family ministries and provides biblical counseling.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Science from Penn State University in Hotel and Restaurant Management and received a Master of Divinity in Practical Theology from Talbot Theological Seminary. He is also a certified member of The Association of Certified Biblical Counselors. Jim and his wife, Sharay, have been married over 30 years and have four adult children: Shannon, Heather (son-in-law, Mike), Robert, and Bethany.
What Jim likes: The study of Scripture and theology, his family, fellowship, good food, golf, and Penn State sports!

Sibu serves at Calvary by directing the outreach to the unchurched. An Indian by nationality, Sibu was raised in a Hindu home in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 2002. Sibu is married to Nisha, who is also from India. They have two girls, Anugraha and Emanya.
Sibu holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and worked as a Networking Engineer in India before moving to Charlotte in 2009. Sibu earned a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Southern Evangelical Seminary, Charlotte.
What Sibu likes: Theology, apologetics, world religions, mountains, reading and spending time with family.
What Sibu could do without: Beaches and tanning!

As Pastor of Community Life, Rob oversees how we welcome and integrate people into active and connected ministry at Calvary. Rob previously served as Director of Community Life and Director of CHAMP Sports Outreach. Rob is married to Jennifer. They have two children, Gage and Jae.
Rob has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a concentration in Marketing from UNC-Greensboro. He also holds a Master of Religion degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
What Rob likes: Music, guitars, health and fitness, meeting people, outdoor grilling, chocolate (an admitted weakness).

Matt was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He came to Christ later in life and has a passion for developing relationships with young people in order for them to know and experience Christ. Matt holds an M.Div. from The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles, California. Matt is married to Ronae, also from Columbus and they have 6 children: Rodney, Jake, Sam, Luke, Madelyn and Abby.
What Matt likes: Spending time with his wife, being with his family, preaching, street evangelism, sports outreach, serving the church, the beauty of creation, and sound doctrine. He also likes being active, seeing new things, and good food.
What Matt could do without: Mice!
