Discipling believers and equipping the church to follow Christ’s example “to seek and save that which is lost” is Jim’s calling. Jim came to Calvary Church in 2011, stepping away for three years to serve with Joni and Friends International Disability Ministry. He has a passion for teaching God’s Word, training and leading the church in evangelism and missions, and caring for our team of Calvary missionaries.

Jim was born and raised in Eastern NC and asked Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord at age nine. Jim graduated from Campbell University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served churches for over 30 years in North and South Carolina.

He is married to Anna, a native Charlottean. God has blessed them with six children: Josh, Jared (Tessa), Jake, Rachel (Nolan), Rebekah (Nick), and Sam, plus three grandchildren: Olive, Theo, and Evelyn.
