MOMS — Making Our Mothering Significant
1 Peter: A Living Hope in Christ

by Jen Wilkin
Teacher: Betty Krein
The MOMS Class is designed to help mothers encourage one another and draw closer to Christ as they do the important work of bringing up their children. How can we handle hardship? With HOPE. The book of 1 Peter begins with beautiful teaching on our Living Hope and our identity as precious, chosen people of God. Peter then shows us how this hope produces honorable living and strength to stand firm in trying times. In this MOMS class, mothers of young children meet in small groups with experienced mentor moms. We will use Jenn Wilkin’s book 1 Peter: A Living Hope in Christ. Come, build relationships, be encouraged, and grow with us! Purchase the required text before the first class. Order  HERE

2 Thessalonians – Precept Upon Precept
by Kay Arthur
Teacher: Jackie Schaffer
The young Thessalonian church remained strong in their faith during a period of persecution. But after they received false information about the day of the Lord, they experienced confusion and anxiety until they received this letter from the Apostle Paul. He reminded them of what they had already been taught, so they would not be deceived about the return of the Lord. Join us as we take an in-depth look at what the apostle had to say, so we also, as followers of Christ, will not be deceived about His coming. Purchase the required text before the first class. 1 Samuel "After God's Heart"
by Myrna Alexander
Teacher: Jan Adams
As we follow the lives of the ancient Israelites in 1 Samuel, our attention is continually drawn to God. We‘ll see His sovereignty over all things, including His loving care and providential guidance, His heart, what matters most to Him, and the direct impact our obedience or disobedience has on us today. The timely messages in these chapters, when taken to heart and applied personally, will bring us closer to God and help us to become a woman after God’s heart. Join us for an in depth look at this relevant and practical book. Purchase the required text before the first class. Order HERE

Strengthening the Foundations of Your Faith
by Charles Ryrie
Teacher: Judy Trexler
Just as a building relies on a solid foundation to stand firm, so we also must possess a solid foundation for our faith. Sound biblical doctrine (the divinely-inspired teachings found in God’s Word) provides the strong underpinnings for maturing our faith and for protecting us from the false teaching prevalent today. Using an easy-to-understand book designed for the layperson, we will examine the major doctrines of the Christian faith. The more we know about God, His Word and His relationship to us, the better prepared we will be to worship, trust, and obey Him.

Lord, Give Me a Heart for You
by Kay Arthur
Teacher: Rometa Arrington
Criticized, beaten down, discouraged? The apostle Paul was so overwhelmed at one time he despaired of life itself! Yet he continued to trust Christ and passionately live for His pleasure. Learn from Paul how to master circumstances with a persevering heart for God. In this study based on 2 Corinthians, Kay examines the anatomy of a heart for God. What it looks like. What it feels like. And how you can strengthen your own relationship with God. Despite the deep physical, emotional, and spiritual pain of life, Paul could rest in the God of all comfort and strength. He could walk in obedience to his calling. He could fight the good fight, finish his race, and keep the faith. And now, through this compelling, insightful, and moving Bible study, so can you. Better: A Study of Hebrews
by Jen Wilkin
Teacher: Betty Farynyk
Come join us for an in-depth study of the Book of Hebrews in which we explore how God “provided something better for us” in the person of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:40). Through stories of Old Testament heroes and practices, the author of Hebrews demonstrates how the new covenant is superior to the old and how Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of every promise. We will explore familiar verses in the context of the entire Bible and learn how to place our hope and faith in Christ alone. Jen’s insightful video teaching will be combined with dynamic group discussion. Purchase the required text before the first class. Order HERE

Trusting God Even When Life Hurts — International Women's Class
by Jerry Bridges
Teacher: Cheri Strahm
All of us have times of trouble in our lives. It comes in many forms: sickness, a painful experience, a difficult relationship, or death of a person we love. Sometimes we feel that God doesn’t hear us, or care. And in those times we wonder, “Why is God allowing this in my life? Can I really trust Him?” We will explore together what the Bible says about God’s power and love. You will hear stories of how women today learned to trust Him in times of trouble. You will discover ways to trust God more completely — even when life hurts. This is a study group for international women, led by a trained Bible teacher who also teaches ESL here at Calvary. Our study is based upon the book, Trusting God, by Jerry Bridges. Purchase the required text before the first class. Order HERE

The Jesus You May Not Know
by Dr. David Jeremiah
Teacher: Mary Beth Hohman
Do you really know the Lord Jesus? Do you know Him personally, intimately, and fully? This study is not a storybook recounting of Jesus’ earthly life and ministry. Rather we'll embark on an amazing journey into the very heart of Christ through an astonishing exploration of His character, His attributes, and His spirit. Purchase the required text before the first class.
