    Carl was raised by strong Christian parents in Monroe, NC and trusted in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior when he was 13 years old. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he obtained his Bachelors of Science degree in Accounting. He is married to Tammy who is from Charlotte. They have two daughters, Natalie and Alison.

    What Carl likes: Spending time with his family, travel, and being outdoors.
    What Carl could do without: Traffic and black olives!

    Dennie Crowder

    After growing up in Charlotte and receiving Christ as a teenager, Dennie served with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department for 30 years, doing a wide variety of security work that included patrol, investigation, crime prevention, and public relations. His background in criminal justice is the foundation for his active involvement in the community and serving at Calvary Church.

    Dennie and his wife, Gayle, enjoy traveling to the mountains and beach and spending time with their twins. And no matter where he happens to be each day, Dennie always enjoys taking a walk.

    One of Dennie’s favorite verses is Psalm 127:1: Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain."

    Michele Davies

    As Director of Media, Michele serves by supporting a strategic approach across all media and communications channels at Calvary with a particular emphasis on video, web, and social media.

    Michele was born in Charlotte and had the privilege to be raised in a loving Christian home. She received Christ as her personal Savior at the age of nine in Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Queens University of Charlotte with a degree in Communications, History and English and received a MLIS from UNC-Greensboro. For more than 15 years, Michele worked in various roles in marketing, communications, and market research in the corporate sector. Michele and her husband, Jeff, have been members of Calvary since 2012.

    What Michele likes: Old movies, reading, barre workouts, skyping with her brother, and milkshakes!

    What Michele could do without: Fine print, 24-hour cable news, and mayonnaise!

    Vince Eaton
    Director of Missions

    Vince is passionate about missions, missionaries and their work. Raised in a Christian home, he placed his faith in Jesus Christ at age 9.  Vince’s mother had a great desire to be a missionary.  As a result, his family often hosted missionaries and pastors visiting their church.
     
    Married to Martha for 47 years, they have two married children, one granddaughter and a grand dog!  Vince and Martha have been at Calvary Church for 21 years and have participated in many Calvary GO Trips together and individually. Those trips enabled him to serve with many people in many countries, notably in Kenya, forming lifetime friendships. He has witnessed the transformation of unknowing people after hearing the Gospel for the first time. The real blessing is returning and seeing them serve faithfully in their family, church and community.
     
    Vince received a B.S. degree from Tusculum College and spent 28 years with a German chemical company, retiring in 2003 after a career in customer service and production planning. 
     
    What Vince likes: The beach, walking, golf, Lucy, Kenya and anything Tennessee Volunteers!
    What Vince could do without: Cold weather, traffic and cheese!

    Peter Farynyk

    Peter’s passion is encouraging people to live fully in the abundant life of Jesus Christ. He grew up in Charlotte, and he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior when he was 11 years old. Peter enjoys all kinds of sports and has played organized football, soccer, and baseball.

    Peter has a B.S. in Business Administration, a Master of Divinity from Louisiana Baptist Theological Seminary, and a M.A. in Biblical Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Peter is married to Mereda.

    What Peter likes: Golf, tennis, ocean air, the mountains, economics, laughing, fireflies, and meditating on Scripture.
    What Peter could do without: Icing, scary movies, and long lines!

    Pursuing his passion to serve others, Scott is applying his gifts and experiences in leading the operational and financial ministries at Calvary Church. Having placed his trust in Christ in the fourth grade during a spring revival, Scott continues to follow God’s direction for his life.  Scott and his wife Beth have been fortunate to make Charlotte their home for over 25 years.  They have three children, Morgan, Michael, and Macy.

     

    Majoring in electrical engineering, Scott holds a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree from Clemson University.  He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from UNC-Charlotte.  God provided Scott the opportunity to develop in various technical and leadership roles while he worked in the electric utility industry for 30 years. 

     

    What Scott likes: Sunset boat rides on the lake, my family, peanut M&M’s, BBQ and college football.

    What Scott could do without: Anchovies and distracted drivers who impede traffic.

    Paul Hundrieser

    Paul was born in Chicago, Illinois and lived the first four years of his life three blocks from Wrigley Field. He was raised in the suburbs of Chicago and regularly attended church with his mother. Despite perfect attendance at Sunday School, Paul did not hear the Gospel until he was a young adult. At the age of 23 he was invited to a small Baptist church where he heard the Gospel and accepted Christ as his Savior and Lord.

    Paul received a BS in Chemistry from MacMurray College where he met his wife Betty (on a blind date that was a disaster). They have two sons, Morgan and Jordan, and three grandchildren, Lynslie, Renn, and Cooper. Paul and Betty have been at Calvary Church 36 years.

    What Paul likes: Reading, photography, music, travel, spicy food, baseball (Chicago Cubs), and his grandchildren.
    What Paul could do without: Tasteless food, opera, and meetings!

    Lori’s calling is to use her gifts to serve God by working with the staff, parents and children of Calvary Child Development Center.

    Lori was raised in a Catholic home, and was saved as a freshman in college. She is originally from Chicago and has been married for 21 years to her loving husband, Ron. They have two daughters, Caleigh (20) and Scout (19). Both girls are attending college in North Carolina. 

    Lori has had a diverse and fascinating work life. She has owned and operated her own business, managed a call center for AT&T, and worked as the Director of the Main Street program in Wisconsin. She fully realized her love of working with children when she became a teacher of 4 year-olds in Chicago, IL. Her husband’s position brought them to Charlotte in 2011 and Lori has worked at Calvary Child Development Center ever since.  She has worked as a Lead Teacher, Coordinator, Scheduling Manager, Staff Manager and now Interim Director. 

    What Lori likes: Reading, creative writing, walking, the ocean and camping
    What Lori could do without: Negativity, dishonesty, liver and onions

    James was raised in a strong Christian home in Columbia, South Carolina. He has been in the Human Resources profession since his graduation from the University of South Carolina. Prior to joining the Calvary staff in 2003, he worked in both the public and private sectors. He and his wife, Georganna, met in high school in Columbia, SC, and have been married for 46 years. They are the proud parents of three adult children, and loving grandparents to three grandchildren.

    What James likes: The Gamecocks, leisure boating, and saltwater surf fishing.
    What James could do without: Coconut!

    Donna supports Calvary ministry by creating print and digital media to reach our congregation and community. She is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in English and Education and a professional background in retail marketing, product development, art, and journalism. She enjoys the creative challenge of designing, writing/editing, and coordinating a wide variety of projects.

    Donna trusted Christ as a child and rededicated her life to the Lord soon after college. She met her husband, Guy, on a Calvary singles’ beach retreat where he was leading worship. They were married at Calvary in 1987. They have a daughter, Elisabeth, and a son, Joshua — but now they’re empty-nesters!

    Donna is a Carolina girl — Go Heels! She enjoys gardening, cookbooks, typography, local dining, arts & music, road trips, and NBA Hornets games.

    Jordan was raised in a Christian home in Southwest Virginia, and he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior when he was eight years old.  He now lives in Charlotte with his wife, Jacqueline, and their daughter.  He is a graduate of Virginia Tech.  Over the course of 15 years, Jordan has gained extensive communications and operations expertise in a variety of senior roles.

    What Jordan Likes:  Football, history, movies, the beach, pizza, and his family!

    What Jordan Could Do Without:  Rainy days, cats, onions, Facebook, and avocado toast.

    Su loves how God has led her to Calvary where she is able to combine her love of children, God’s Word, education, music, and theater to engage and encourage children to learn more about our Lord! She was born in Nigeria, Africa to parents who were missionaries and was blessed to be raised in a Christian home. She met and married Chuck at Calvary. They have three children, Jonathan, Cassie, and Stephen.

    Su completed her undergraduate studies at Wheaton College, and her Master of Education at UNCC. She taught in our public schools for 10 years.

    What Su likes: Children, the ocean, lakes, the Caribbean, travel, UNC Football (Go Jonathan!), laughing, and spending time with her family.
    What Su could do without: Snakes, spiders, and mosquitoes!
